REACH – List of candidates of substances of very high concern

After publication of the first candidate list with the first 15 SVGC substances on 28.10.2008 there is the task for many trading companies, importers and manufactures of determining whether any of these substances are contained in commercial products, or materials.

 

 

 

The first extension of the candidate list of substances of very high concern (SVHC) was decided by the Member State Committee of ECHA, on 07.12.2009. The candidate list was extended by a further substances to a total of 53 substances. (see link: http://echa.europa.eu/chem_data/authorisation_process/candidate_list_table_en.asp)

 

Dates / Responsibilities:

 

Suppliers must inform customers and end users in accordance with Article 33 of the REACH regulation, if a substance is included in the list of candidates for a given product at a concentration of more than 0.1%. This obligation of suppliers to customers and end users applies to all listed substances in the list of candidates.

 

As of June 2011 are manufacturers, producers and importers in accordance with Article 7, paragraph 2 of the REACH regulation to the Member State Committee of ECHA obliged to inform if a product, include a substance of the candidate list (SVHC) in a concentration greater than 0.1 %, which is produced with more than 1 ton per year.
